E. Macbean [BLK] is the brainchild of designer and academic Andrew Ibi and a continuous collaboration and conversation with E. Macbean.
Andrew Ibi is a designer, artist, and educator.
In recent years, his work in academia has involved developing research around social trends and its impact on design and has previously explored cultural nostalgia, belonging and displacement. Launching the arthouse swimwear brand in 2019 with his partner Eleanor, E. Macbean debuted during London Fashion Week with a presentation that explored the relationships and tensions between the female body and the fashion gaze.
