Unbound Epicatechin keeps it simple with one ingredient aimed at one thing: giving you a solid dose of high-quality epicatechin without blends, skimpy amounts, or extra junk. Each capsule has 300mg of ProEpicate®, a cocoa bean extract that's 90% epicatechin, so you're getting about 270mg of the real deal per serving. That's key because lots of epicatechin supps look good on paper but deliver weak actual amounts if the standardization sucks. Here, it's just straightforward: one ingredient, clear dosing, no BS.

Epicatechin is a flavanol from cocoa that's popular in sports nutrition for helping with muscle signals, blood flow, and workout performance. It mainly gets talked about for myostatin and follistatin—myostatin puts the brakes on muscle growth, while follistatin helps block it. Human studies are still building up, and that's worth noting, but the early research and how it works have made it a go-to for athletes looking for a muscle and performance edge. The evidence is more promising than rock-solid, especially for trained folks, but it's a real ingredient worth trying when the dose is on point.

The 300mg ProEpicate® dose is what makes this stand out. With 90% standardization, you get around 270mg of actual epicatechin, which is at the higher end of what's used for these benefits like muscle support, better blood flow, and body comp. In real life, you won't feel it like a stim-packed pre-workout. No rush, no tingling, n

Key Highlights

  • 300mg ProEpicate® per capsule—this isn't some vague cocoa extract with iffy amounts. ProEpicate® is 90% epicatechin, so each serving gives you about 270mg of the real active stuff, which is what really counts for strength in a formula like this.
  • About 270mg actual epicatechin—standardization makes a big difference here. Plenty of epicatechin products seem okay until you figure out the true flavanol amount; this one hits the 100-300mg daily range that's common for performance goals.
  • Just one ingredient—no hiding in prop blends or adding cheap fillers. Makes it easy to check, easy to trust, and perfect for stacking with your other supps in a solid routine.
  • Aimed at supporting muscle-growth signals—epicatechin is big for myostatin and follistatin paths that help control muscle building. Human studies are still growing, but the science behind it keeps it popular in serious muscle supps for years.
  • Helps with blood flow and pump stacks—cocoa flavanols like epicatechin tie into nitric oxide and vein health. Great to pair with citrulline or nitrates when you want better flow and fuller muscles during lifts.
  • No stims for performance help—no caffeine, no harsh buzz, no crash. Lets you add a focused boost without ramping up heart rate, nerves, or messing with sleep.
  • One capsule per serving—keeps it simple for sticking with it. Way easier than big scoops or tons of pills that you end up ditching.
  • Stacks great—since it's just ProEpicate®, it fits right in with creatine, pre-workouts, pumps, intras, protein, and recovery stuff. Adds a unique angle without overlapping junk.

Who Is This For?

  • Bodybuilders in muscle-building mode wanting a no-stim add for fuller muscles, better sessions, and progress. 300mg ProEpicate® gives solid epicatechin that fits growth stacks without more stims or sleep hits.
  • Seasoned lifters on creatine and protein looking for targeted help. This delivers clear epicatechin to layer in without extra caffeine, pumps, or fillers.
  • Guys after better pumps and veins via flow support, not just stims. Cocoa epicatechin links to nitric oxide, making it a good match for pump pre or no-stim stacks.
  • Lifters training evenings who skip high-stims to save sleep. Unbound Epicatechin is zero-stim, so pre-use won't cause racing, shakes, or late-night issues.
  • Competitors in long preps needing tight, controllable stacks. Single-ingredient capsule keeps things simple while adding muscle and performance focus.
  • Strength and physique folks who hate hidden blends and love clear labels. ProEpicate® at 300mg with 90% standard means you know the real epicatechin, not guessing from generic extract.

How to Use

Take 1 capsule daily with water. On training days, time it 20-45 minutes pre-lift if you want it around your session; on off days, same time for habit. Stim-free, so no half-dose start for tolerance—just 1 capsule. Empty stomach or light meal works, but many go empty near workouts for smooth absorb and no gut issues. Capsule means no mixing—swallow with water. Stacks well with creatine monohydrate, citrulline pre-workouts, pumps, and protein, covering energy, flow, and recovery while epicatechin adds signals. Don't think it swaps for pre energy—no caffeine here. No need to cycle like stims; daily over weeks is best. Keep in cool, dry spot with lid on. If on blood pressure or thinning meds, check with doc first.

What to Expect

Minutes 0-10: swallow one capsule with water and feel basically nothing right away, which is how it should be. Minutes 10-40: no buzz, no tingles, no forced hype—this isn't for instant vibes. In the workout, you might notice a bit better fullness or feel when stacked with pumps, but epicatechin's value isn't a quick hit. Days 1-7: it's about sticking with it more than big feels, working in the background for support. Weeks 2-4: that's when you check if sessions, pumps, and looks are improving. Rewards steady use and real training, not random doses. If you need instant proof, wrong pick; if you track progress, it fits.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much epicatechin am I actually getting per capsule?

Each capsule contains 300mg of ProEpicate®, which is standardized to 90% epicatechin. That means you are getting approximately 270mg of actual epicatechin per serving, which is the number that matters when comparing product strength.

Is 300mg of ProEpicate® a real dose or just label dressing?

It is a meaningful dose for the category. Because ProEpicate® is standardized to 90%, the formula lands at roughly 270mg actual epicatechin, which sits within the commonly used range for epicatechin supplementation and near the upper end of what many products aim to deliver.

Will Unbound Epicatechin feel like a pre-workout?

No. This product contains no caffeine or stimulants, so you should not expect a rush, tingling, or aggressive onset. It is designed for cumulative support of muscle performance and vascular function, not acute stimulation.

When should I take Unbound Epicatechin?

Most users take 1 capsule daily. On training days, 20-45 minutes pre-workout is common, especially if you want it placed around your session, but it can also be taken consistently at another time of day if that improves adherence.

Can I stack this with creatine?

Yes, and that is one of the best ways to use it. Creatine supports phosphocreatine replenishment and strength output, while epicatechin provides a different mechanism tied to muscle signaling and vascular support, so the two complement each other well.

Can I take this with a pre-workout that already has caffeine?

Yes. Since Unbound Epicatechin is stim-free and contains only ProEpicate®, it stacks easily with stimulant or pump pre-workouts without creating caffeine overlap. This is one of the major advantages of a single-ingredient capsule.

Is this product really a myostatin inhibitor?

That is the common marketing position for epicatechin, but the honest answer is that human evidence is still developing. There is real mechanistic interest around myostatin and follistatin signaling, but this should be viewed as a targeted performance-support ingredient, not a guaranteed dramatic muscle-growth shortcut.

Do I need to cycle epicatechin?

There is no standard requirement to cycle it the way users often cycle stimulant-heavy products. Most athletes will get more value from consistent daily use over several weeks so they can properly evaluate training performance and physique response.

Is this vegetarian or vegan?

No, the capsule uses gelatin. The active ingredient is derived from cocoa bean extract, but the capsule shell itself is animal-based.

Who gets the most out of this formula?

Lifters with established training and nutrition habits tend to benefit most because they can actually evaluate subtle improvements in workout quality, fullness, and physique response. It is especially appealing to physique-focused athletes who want a specialized, stim-free addition to an already intelligent stack.

Makes Fantastic Cold Brew. Thoughtful Design. Slightly Frail, But Approaches Perfection.
Style: 51oz|Conical Styles
When I looked for a dedicated cold brew pitcher, I had a few conditions. Mainly I wanted to avoid plastic at all costs. I needed a pitcher that would be easy to clean and simple to use, without pointless bells and whistles. Finally, I wanted a pitcher that could fit in my fridge without issue. This pitcher achieves all that and then some. Borosilicate is the same stuff Pyrex used to make its glassware from, a material renowned for its durability especially when exposed to quick temperature shifts. I knew it was overkill, but such material would surely fit the bill. And glass wouldn't affect the flavor of whatever coffee I'd brew in it. The grind holder is made from stainless steel, with a fine mesh that largely prevents sediment from getting into the coffee. It does allow smaller particles to get through, but they settle to the bottom. Overall I can't complain. The grind holder is suspended by a rubber ring which also locks the pitcher's lid in place. This forms a nice little seal that seems to help prevent leaking. Obviously there is no vacuum capability here, but it feels sturdy and like it won't let anything in or out once the grind holder is in. Pouring is easy and accurate. I remove the lid and grind holder, then pour. There's never any spillover nor dripping. The pitcher has a good, well-crafted pouring tip. Brewing with the pitcher takes a bit of practice. First I dump old grinds if necessary, then fill the grind holder roughly 3/4 of the way with cold brew grinds. BEFORE I place the grind holder into the pitcher, I fill the pitcher with water about 2 inches below the max line. After that, I place the grind filter into the pitcher then slowly press down on the grinds to flatten and wet them. Finally, I slowly pour water in to hit the max line, flattening the grounds as I do. While the pitcher has notches to determine how much liquid it holds, I don't find that feature helpful because I only use the pitcher with a grind holder which boosts the liquid. I imagine the notch lines may be more helpful for someone using this as a standard pitcher without the grind holder in place. I've accidentally overfilled this pitcher many times before deciding the best way, in my opinion, to handle it as described above. I've tried placing the grind holder in and then pouring all of the water over the grinds. But because grinds have a tendency to rise and overflow, that method proved messy and ineffective. This is why I add most of the water first, then only add a very small amount of water AFTER putting the grind holder into position just to top it off. So how good is the cold brew? After trying a few different approaches, I now brew mine in the fridge for convenience, letting it steep for about a week to make a nice dark roast concentrate with Bizzy Organic Dark & Bold grounds. The result is stellar, easily better than any coffee place cold brew I've had in the past couple of years. Filled to the max line, a full pitcher lasts me about 2 weeks when I have about an inch of coffee per day. I've found cold brew concentrate to be an extremely economical way to stretch costly grinds while creating the richest flavor and this pitcher is a key part of that. With this approach, I'm a happy customer. One thing I like to do while brewing a new batch of coffee is pouring about 1/3 of the brewed coffee into a tall cup and finishing that while brewing. This method has worked perfectly for me, as I have a new pot of coffee by the time I'm done with the old one. One thing to point out is that the pitcher is fairly big and the glass is relatively thin. And so I have always hand washed all parts of this pitcher, which has proven straightforward enough. While borasilicate and stainless steel should be dishwasher safe, this has become too important a piece of equipment for me to start playing around with. So I'm not the person to say how well it holds up in a dishwasher. My outlook is to treat this pitcher with the care it deserves and to be rewarded with its offerings for as long as possible. Overall the pitcher is an all-star at making the coffee I enjoy, being so simple to use that it becomes easy to take for granted. It is almost a trouble-free piece of kitchen hardware and has already paid for itself through sheer convenience. The quality definitely feels top notch, although the thinness of the glass means it needs to be treated with the care and respect it deserves. I would feel very comfortable recommending this product to almost anyone serious about making a quality cold brew at home.

Better than expected (Updated)!
This is a simple and effective solution to making a good cold brew. Too bad the process takes forever (no fault to the product). BUT if you want a stronger taste, after using purified cold water (try to get beans wet), let it sit out for 12 hours or longer but then place in the fridge and you'll notice it darker and richer. It is impossible if you think some ground beans won't end up in your coffee, they will BUT when you pour, as long as you leave the metal ring in, a little bit of coffee (water) and the beans usually get stuck and don't come out. If you're really nuts about it, you can use a cheese cloth but a bit of grounds won't hurt you and not sure you'd really taste it as it's so fine, barely noticeable. Those who keep braking the glass? You must use cold water if you immediately start cleaning the pot. Do NOT run under hot water while the pot is cold, you or course will shatter the glass at some point. Update (07/29/2020) I am still using this product and no issues with it. But it does leave the coffee grounds smell to it no matter what beans I use, so wash with soap after every use. Be sure to know, water will evaporate and also get soaked up in the coffee beans, so adding a little more water above Max may be helpful. Also, pro tip, when you take out the insert with the beans, put it over the lid and tilt it and let it rest for 3 Mins so all the water from the beans pours out, do NOT force it with your fingers as you'll get more grounds and will have a harsh flavor.

Great for iced tea and easy to use
Style: 51oz|Conical Styles
I use this for making iced tea and it works perfectly. You can use tea bags or loose-leaf tea, and both come out great. It’s easy to fill, strain, and clean, and I like that I can just keep it in the fridge and pour as I go. The airtight seal keeps everything fresh. Super convenient and a staple for my fridge now

Beautiful, convenient and plastic free..but on the small size
Style: 51oz|Conical Styles
I wanted a replacement for my Mr Coffee ice tea maker, which I loved, but I didn’t love the plastic, BPA free or not. Actually, I much prefer making tea in this tea maker. You need to plan ahead, to let it steep, but there is no need to deal with all the ice and dripping onto the counter like when using the Mr Coffee. I wanted to get the larger pot, but the larger sized variant is very tall and thin and would not fit in my refrigerator, even though I do have a good sized fridge. I do wish this one was a bit bigger, but for every day use this is just fine. I think it is simple and beautiful. Totally glad I purchased it.
